What Do You Do for You?

In early March, I shared my inner loner with the world – and received an e-mail from a Twitter follower asking me with my busy schedule, how I find time for myself.

What do I do for me? How do I take alone time? So it got me to thinking… in my busy schedule with a million things to do in a day, what exactly do I do for myself? I recently was reading another Lifestyle Kick article when something really caught my eye…

“Be like water, my friend’, it is the source of life. Be gentle, kind and giving.”

This made me reflect on how I not only treat others, but myself as well. Learning and growing as a person is not something that happens over night. In my opinions, it is something that develops when you take time to be alone; new perspectives become clearer (at least for me) when spending time alone.

So what do I do for me? Firstly, I write – I have two personal journals – one with goals for the future and for positive thoughts only, and another to vent and talk about life; an online blog which doubles as my website for communication/public relations freelancing; and I work with a local modelling agency in Kitchener, Ontario – Gemini Models. These three things each influence one another as my outlet for unleashing my individuality. In fact, this past weekend I spent every day alone – listening to music, doing laundry, working out, and writing… and it was one of my most productive weekends in the last few months.

I could sit here and write more about what I do, or I could open up the conversation – what about you? Let’s chat on Twitter.
